Stephen Hoel

Stephen Hoel is President of Diversity Leadership Consultants, which was formed in 2001 as a leadership development organization focusing on improving the effectiveness of leadership and team skills. Stephen has a vast array of operational experience in the hospitality industry in both operations management and human resources with Walt Disney World Resort, Hilton, Marriott and other independent hotel and restaurant organizations.

Stephen’s 12 years with the Walt Disney World Resort enabled him to develop facilitation skills in Leadership and Managing Diversity. He has had great success in designing and delivering specific leadership and team interventions, facilitation of leadership and diversity classes, and multicultural leadership development. He works with key decision-makers on initial consultation, needs analysis, design and delivery of recommended action and measurement of anticipated results.

Stephen Hoel, Founder of SHDLC

Stephen’s background includes twenty years in operations management, and eight years in Human Resources. Human Resources experience includes design and delivery of hospitality service standards manuals, human resources generalist management and training and development performance consulting. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and a distinguished graduate Masters of Arts Degree in Human Resources.

Stephen is an experienced facilitator with specialized delivery of diversity training programs, while threading the concepts of diversity into all of his training workshops. He holds the designation of Master Trainer for Inclusive Communications at Walt Disney World, has completed The Leadership Challenge® Workshop Certified Master Process*, is certified in Myers-Briggs Type Indicator [MBTI]®, and is a qualified trainer in Emotional Intelligence BarOn EQ-i® and the EQ-360™. Stephen uses these tools and other developmental interventions to assist organizations in creating an environment where all individuals and teams can do their best work.
